2013: 8th International LAMS and Learning Design Conference

The International LAMS and Learning Design Conference will be held in Singapore.

This 8th International LAMS and Learning Design conference will be held as part of The International Council for Education Media Conference (ICEM) 2013. ICEM is an international organization that brings together global expertise in the field of educational technology. Its annual conference is an interdisciplinary forum that provides opportunities for educators, researchers, media producers, and practitioners to meet and debate issues that relate to educational technology. We invite you to participate in this prestigious joint event and submit your paper, poster, roundtable or workshop for presentation.

This conference will be organised as the Learning Design Strand of the ICEM Conference which will be organized by the Nanyang Technological University, in collaboration with the International Council for Educational Media.

2012: 7th International LAMS and Learning Design Conference

The International LAMS and Learning Design Conference will again be held in Sydney this December.

Focussing on "Surveying the Learning Design Landscape", this years conference will look at technologies, applications and approaches that support sharing, collaboration and open access to knowledge and resources and the differing implications for individuals and organizations in a changing world. Importantly, we will also capture the experience of those who have used LAMS & Learning Design and shared some of the lessons learnt about sharing great ideas in higher education, the K-12 sector, vocational and professional education.

2011: 6th International LAMS and Learning Design Conference

The 6th International Conference will once again be held in Sydney after the success of the five previous International LAMS Conferences in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010; and four European Conferences (2007 – Greenwich, 2009 – Cadiz, 2009 – Milton Keynes and Oxford in July 2010) and the 2011 International Conference held at NTU, Singapore.


The focus of the conference will be "Learning Design for a Changing World". We will look at technologies, applications and approaches that support sharing, collaboration and open access to knowledge and resources and the differing implications for individuals and organizations in a changing world. Importantly, we will also capture the experience of those who have used LAMS & Learning Design and shared some of the lessons learnt about sharing great ideas in higher education, the K-12 sector, vocational and professional education.

2011: The Asia Pacific LAMS and Learning Design Conference

The focus of the 2011 Asia Pacific Conference was"Learning Design for a Changing World." We explored technologies, applications and approaches that support sharing, collaboration and open access to knowledge and resources in a changing world.

The conference was held at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore on Tuesday, 7th June and was preceded by LAMS workshops on Monday, 6th June, 2011. The conference was co-hosted by NTU with the E-Learning Forum Asia Conference (June 8-9th, 2011).

2010: The 5th International LAMS and Learning Design Conference

The 2010 Sydney conference focused on "Sharing Great Ideas." The conference was held at Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia on the 9th December, 2010. The conference was followed by LAMS training workshops on the 10th December, 2010.

The 5th International Conference was held in Sydney after the success of the four previous International LAMS Conferences in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 and four European Conferences (2007 - Greenwich, 2009 – Cadiz, 2009 - Milton Keynes and Oxford in July 2010).

We looked at technologies, applications and approaches that support sharing, collaboration and open access to knowledge and resources and the differing implications for individuals and organisations. Importantly, we captured the experience of those who have used LAMS & Learning Design and shared some of the lessons learnt about sharing great ideas in higher education, the K-12 sector, vocational and professional education.

2010 European LAMS & Learning Design Conference

The focus of 2010 European Conference was "Sharing Great Ideas". We looked at technologies, applications and approaches that support sharing, collaboration and open access to knowledge and resources. What are the differing implications for individuals and organisations? Importantly, we wanted to capture the experience of those who have used LAMS & Learning Design and share some of the lessons learnt about Open Education in higher education, the K-12 sector, vocational and professional education.

The conference was held at Wolfson College, Oxford, UK on 15th July and was followed with a Design Bash on 16th July, 2010, which was co-hosted and sponsored by JISC and CETIS.

The 4th International 2009 LAMS & Learning Design Conference

The 4th International Conference was held in Sydney after the success of the three previous International LAMS Conferences in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and three European Conferences (2007 - Greenwich, 2009 – Cadiz and 2009 - UK).

The focus of the conference was on Open Education. We explored technologies, applications and approaches that support sharing, collaboration and open access to knowledge and resources.

LAMS in Schools Showcase 2009

Call for Presentations is now closed

The LAMS in Schools Showcase is being held at the request of teachers, school administrators and university lecturers who have expressed an interest in seeing how LAMS is being used in classrooms throughout the country. The emphasis for the day will be on practical LAMS demonstrations. These will be informal sessions that provide all those attending an opportunity to discuss the work being shown.

The Showcase will be held at the ICT Innovations Centre, Macquarie University on Wednesday, 17th June, 2009. More information here.

2009 European LAMS & Learning Design Conference

"Opening Up Learning Design"

The conference was held at The Open University, UK on 7th July, 2009. LAMS training workshops were held on the days surrounding the conference (6th, 8th & 9th July). Additionally, a Planner Summit was held before the conference on Monday, 6th July. At this Summit, current and future issues in relation to a number of international pedagogic and activity planner projects currently being developed were discussed. We were also be co-hosting a Design Bash with JISC and CETIS on 8th July.

The 3rd International LAMS & Learning Design Conference, Sydney, 2008

"Perspectives on Learning Design"

The 3rd International LAMS & Learning Design Conference was held at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie
University on Friday, December 5th, 2008.

Keynote Speakers were Professor Diana Laurillard from the University of London; Leanne Cameron, Matthew Kearney and a group of their students to discuss a combined staff/student perspective on LAMS; Paul Gagnon from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Professor James Dalziel, MELCOE, Macquarie University.

A Summit on Pedagogic Planners was held on December 8th at the University of Sydney.

2008 European LAMS Conference, Cadiz, Spain

The Conferencia Iberoamericana LAMS 2008 / 2008 European LAMS Conference was held from 25th-27th of June, 2008 in Cadiz, Spain. The conference included a workshop on Pedagogic Planners on the 27th of June.

Keynote speakers for the conference are Stephen Downes, Professor Gráinne Conole, Open University UK, and Professor James Dalziel, MELCOE.

"The Practical Benefits of Learning Design"

The 2nd International Conference was held in Sydney from the 26th to the 29th of November, 2007 at Macquarie University in Sydney,
Australia.

Keynote speakers included Director of MELCOE, Professor James Dalziel, and Professor John Hedberg, Australian Centre for Educational Studies, Macquarie University.

"Designing the Future of Learning"


The 2007 European LAMS Conference was held on the 5th of July, 2007 at the University of Greenwich in London, UK.

Keynote speakers included Professor Diana Laurillard, London Knowledge Lab, University of London and Professor James Dalziel, MELCOE, Macquarie University. The conference includes a workshop on Pedagogic Planners held on the 6th of July at the London Knowledge Lab, University of London.

1st International LAMS Conference

"Designing the Future of Learning"

The 1st International LAMS Conference was held on 7-8th of December, 2006 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australia. Keynote speakers include Professor Ron Oliver (Edith Cowan University), Penny Carnaby (National Librarian of New Zealand), Professor Diana Laurillard (University of London – remote presentation) and Professor James Dalziel, MELCOE, Macquarie University.
